I've heard stories....the parents saying "oh kung fu changed my kid, my kid is so respectful now, they're doing better in school".....etc......honestly I thought, yea sure...You're kids probably just grew out of the bad behavior. That was until my son was having serious behavioral issues. I thought nobody could pull him out of this. I was at my wits end with all of it....not a day went by without a phone call from the school principal, then, alternative school was decided for him. Countless nights I cried....bring for a break from this...begging for help. Then an ad came across my Facebook about Round Rock Shaolin Do Kung Fu. A special at that...$69 uniform included for 6 weeks....all the places I called previous months were $99+ a week......so I clicked, paid and bam he was a new student. We met Master Duncan first, who did his beginning testing, and he had to remind my son a few times to focus and follow him. But he did it, and all the instructors there have guided him and encouraged him non-stop. So now I'm one of those parents that telling you "ROUND ROCK SHAOLIN DO KUNG FU HAS CHANGED MY CHILD'S LIFE AND MINE" he looks forward to going to school now, he PASSED 1st grade with flying colors, his attitude is 90% better, he smiles more, he's proud of himself, he has new friends, and AMAZING new role models. I'm NOT one to do reviews but I couldn't pass up this one!!! Please take my word on this and check it for your kid. Thank you Master Duncan and ALL your wonderful staff!!!!

What a great place for Kung Fu and birthday parties! They just hosted a party for my kiddo and I can't say enough good about their ability to pull off a flawless party, feed kiddos, and make sure everyone has fun. Kids got a mini-Kung Fu class, obstacle course, and games. Highly recommend these guys, especially Ms Hannah Chapman and Mr D. Thank you!!!

My 5 yr old son has been going here for about a month now and he loves it. I was nervous cause at first he didn't want to walk in the front door on the first day. Now he is out of the car running in before I can get out myself lol. I have even noticed his self esteem growing :). The little ninja instructors are excellent with the students. So glad I found this place!!

Round Rock Fitness Kickboxing is a blast! I started my trial back in September 2016 thinking I will give it a try... I don't know if I can do more than 1 or 2 times a week. I was totally wrong --I am so addicted! I go 3 times a week! The support from the instructors and group is so encouraging. I have made great friends here and never feel self conscious. Everyone does things at their own level. No one is trying to out do you. No one is putting you down for doing knee push ups :). We are attending for a common goal to get fit and have fun. Oh I failed to mention I feel great ! More energy, clothes fit looser, and the best benefit? Your significant other saying WOW. Give it a try you too will become addicted.

I have been a student of Shaolin Do for a little over a year now and a student of Master Duncan's for a little over a month and I highly recommend this school to anyone who is interested in learning the art of Kung Fu. Master Duncan's teaching style is very thorough and comprehensive and he makes sure you truly "understand" the material, specifically WHY you are learning something rather than just HOW to do a form or technique. Classes are usually pretty large (20+) students for the adult class, and there is a large cross-section of ages, ranks, physiques and abilities, so it does not feel like students are competing with or judging each other - each student works as part of the class, but each student works at THEIR pace.

This school also offers classes for children and as an expectant father, I cannot wait to bring my son to share in the great experience Master Duncan offers. The children's classes are entertaining to watch (as an adult) and the kids themselves are extremely motivated and seem to love every minute. The focus and discipline these classes teach the kids will certainly come in handy, plus it's a great place for them to make friends that can last a lifetime.

For those who truly want to learn traditional Kung Fu, enhance their physical abilities, discipline their mind and have fun while doing it, stop by the school, meet the teachers and the students and join us - it truly is a family atmosphere. You will not be disappointed.

I have been going to Shaolin Do Kung Fu for about five years now. I participate both in Kung Fu and Tai Chi and have nothing but great things to say about Mstr Duncan and the program. He is one of the best teachers I have come across. He knows how to breakdown the forms so you are able to learn the elements and as you put them together are able to do the form as designed.

Do I need to be in shape before I start Kickboxing?

Short answer; absolutely not! We have members of all health and fitness levels, and our classes are designed to fit around each one of these levels.

The only thing we ask is that you bring your best attitude when you come to one of our classes. If you have the mental framework determined to become physically healthy, that is all we want to see. Our trainers will help you get into the best shape of your life!

Can I lose weight with the Fitness Kickboxing program?

Of course. Although, we must say you get what you put in. If you follow a consistent workout pattern, you are bound to see the results you want. On average, kickboxers burn an average of 820 calories per hour.

Do I need any kickboxing experience?

No, we love teaching new members. There is no better way to gain respect from our community than someone who has the will to join our class without any experience. If you can take that first step, you have already proven to our group that you are a strong-minded individual. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Does the physical training include weights or machines?

Most of the training comes from the natural, isotonic, aerobic, anaerobic, and isometric exercises, although, some weight training may be recommended or used. These exercises help our members with losing weight and toning the whole body; our focus is for you to develop speed, flexibility, and force.

What should I wear or bring?

Sweats and a T-shirt, or yoga attire, work best. We also recommend wearing flat-soled gym shoes to not hurt the arch in your foot. You’ll also want to bring a towel and a bottle of water. And of course bring the mental attitude that you’re going to kill this workout!

How often should I attend classes?

We understand how busy your life can be; we would love to see you at least once a week. We believe once a week will be a good start for you to build your overall endurance and capability to implement the basic kickboxing moves.

Once you have built the basic foundation of the Kickboxing moves, we encourage you to then increase the amount of frequency and intensity of your workouts. We want you to go at your own pace, but make sure to challenge yourself to see the best results.
